Conte Ruggiero School was founded in 1984 in Calabria and is among the first language schools in Southern Italy to specialize in teaching Italian as a foreign language. For over four decades, we have welcomed students from around the world, combining academic quality with genuine hospitality.
Our school is located in Santa Domenica, near the renowned town of Tropea — a place where tradition, community life, and everyday Italian culture are still deeply rooted. This setting allows students to experience Italy beyond the typical tourist paths.

The Conte Ruggiero School Garden
The heart of Conte Ruggiero School is the Mediterranean garden, a green space of more than 2,000 square meters that makes our learning environment truly unique. Since decades, students from all over the world have learned Italian here, sitting among orange trees, bougainvillea and olive trees. Whenever the weather allows, classes take place outdoors, in our dedicated open-air classrooms. These spaces are fully equipped for teaching and offer a relaxed and inspiring setting where students can focus, interact, and learn naturally.

Learning Italian works best when language, people and place come together. At Conte Ruggiero School, we believe that learning a language should be both effective and enjoyable, for us it’s important that students feel comfortable, curious, and motivated. Grammar provides the essential structure of the language, but it is always presented in a clear and practical way and immediately applied through conversation, activities, and real communication. Our lessons are interactive and communicative, encouraging students to use Italian from the very beginning in a natural and spontaneous way.
